Brush Techniques
Master the four fundamental brush strokes — dot, horizontal, vertical, and diagonal — that form the foundation of all Chinese brush art.
Botanical Subjects
Paint the classic Four Gentlemen: plum blossom, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum — each embodying a distinct virtue and season.
Landscape Ink Wash
Explore the art of ink wash landscape (山水畫) — mountains, mist, water, and rocks — using tonal variation and negative space.
Calligraphy Basics
Learn the structure and rhythm of Chinese characters through regular script (楷書), developing discipline, patience, and aesthetic sensitivity.
Colour & Ink Mixing
Discover how to blend mineral pigments and ink to create the subtle tonal ranges that give Chinese brush painting its distinctive depth.
Mindful Practice
Each session begins with a brief breathing exercise to centre the mind. The brush becomes a tool for meditation as much as for art.
